Adverbele de mod se pot crea dupa o regula, se numesc regulate, sau au forme proprii, se numesc neregulate:
Adverbs of manner can have:
- regular forms: easily, slowly, noisily, quietly, carefully, badly, beautifully, etc
- irregular forms: well, fast, hard etc
- Se numesc “de mod”, deci vor descrie cum se face o actiune. Adverbs of manner describe how an action is done.
He drives fast.
She walks slowly.
He is feeling bad.
- Adverbele de mod regulate se formeaza prin adaugarea terminatiei -ly unui adjectiv.
Regular adverbs of manner are formed by adding -ly to the end of an adjective
beautiful – beautifully
strong – strongly
nice – nicely
healthy – healthily
easy – easily
terrible – terribly
sad – sadly
polite – politely
perfect – perfectly
brave – bravely
- Adverbele de mod neregulate au fiecare forma sa proprie:
There are also the irregular adverbs of manner, they are formed differently
fast – fast My kids learn fast new things.
good – well I didn’t feel well last night.
late – late We arrived late to the party. (Forma “lately” inseamna “in ultimul timp”)
straight – straight Go straight, then turn left.
- De obicei se folosesc dupa verb, daca propozitia nu are un complement direct sau indirect, “object” :
In a sentence, adverbs of manner usually go after the verb
You read loudly.
He sings nicely.
The car runs fast.
- Daca exista complement direct sau indirect, atunci adverbele de mod se folosesc dupa complement.
