Pattern 2   LET + object + bare infinitive

The pattern 'let + object + bare infinitive' is used to express the fact that we allow someone to do something, or we give someone permission to do something.

Or we don't stop someone doing something.

  • The teacher lets me write the exercise on the whiteboard.
  • My father lets me play games on the mobile phone.
  • Mum let me eat the whole cake yesterday.
